Mark’s story
These are some of the things that led me to become a Christian. When I was eighteen years old, I had a bad drug experience. One weekend I was hanging out with some people who I thought were my friends. One of them said to me that he knew some people in the band that were playing at this bar. We bought some acid (LSD) and headed to the bar.
The two of us ended up going to the bar, and when the music set was over we ended up at a hotel room party and we took the acid. That night was one of the worse nights I’ve ever had in my life. It turned out that these people were into Satanism and they were asking me to become a part of this too. When I said no thanks, they started to trip me out. They said “You can play the part of Judas and die for our sin.” I would have left the party at that time or even sooner but a member of my family who was younger than me, would not leave the party. So out of fear for his safety, I stayed.
The people that were into that Satanic cult conjured up some evil spirits and the night got worse. I saw things that night that I can’t explain. It was a really bad trip and so much more. At one point I cried out to God to help me and He did. I lived to see another day and I thank God for it. That bad experience caused me to begin searching for the true and living God.
Two years latter someone shared with me about God’s love for me and I asked Jesus into my heart and life. Now I have a personal relationship with Jesus and I know that God has a place in heaven for me. I love God’s word, the bible, and Jesus is my best friend. Jesus has given me peace inside like nothing in this world can give. I feel fulfilled, happy, and I am discovering my purpose in life. It is so incredible to have a relationship with our Creator and to know that our life is in His hands, when we choose to place it there.
